Destiny Haney, senior manager of national embed programming
Destiny Haney is the senior manager of national embed programming for Best Friends Animal Society. She currently oversees strategic programs at shelters across the U.S. These lifesaving programs include community cat programs, which work to keep community cats out of municipal shelters.
After nearly a decade of working in the L.A. cat rescue community, Destiny joined Best Friends in 2010. Destiny has regularly taken on new challenges to create proactive resources and to produce positive outcomes for animals, especially cats. Prior to her work with the embed programs, she assisted with opening the Best Friends Pet Adoption and Spay/Neuter Center in Mission Hills, joined in the launching of NKLA (No-Kill Los Angeles), and established the L.A. kitten nursery, which saved thousands of kittens from city shelters.
At home, Destiny takes care of her menagerie of special pets, including her dog with no nose. In her spare time, she volunteers as a weekend host and mentor for older children in the foster care system as they work to find adoptive families.
